AWAS-Portraits of Afghan Women: Homayra Danishyar-Sajjadi

“AWAS stands for the voice of women, and everyone is warmly invited, whether they want to help or need assistance. We look forward to hearing from you and joining forces.” – Homayra Danishyar-Sajjadi

Today, I had the privilege of meeting a remarkable woman, a co-founder of AWAS. She is a mother, a wife, holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and works part-time as a marketing professional while currently on maternity leave. I was invited to her home to conduct the interview. Homayra Danishyar-Sajjadi is an example of many Afghan women who actively engage in advocating for women’s rights alongside their everyday responsibilities and careers.

In the interview, you will learn about her journey to Switzerland, the AWAS organization, and her life. Her story is an inspiration and motivation for all women. If you want to get to know the co-founder of AWAS better, be sure to watch the video.

I look forward to your feedback and comments.

“Afghan women, stand up, raise your voices, you are not alone, for we are here and will always support you.” – Homayra Danishyar-Sajjadi
